The days of just being
religious are gone,
the days of declaring
Qur’an as the word of God.
What is the point of wearing
a hijab if your curves can be seen?
What is the point of knowing Arabic
if the meaning doesn’t move you?
You succeeded to see your friends’ faults
and didn’t even realise what you have been upto?
By education, you became a scholar,
You’re not even a student of your own self
You go in sacred places to find peace,
Never even thought of going into your own self
Everyday you fight great battles against elements,
Never even thought of battling your own self
You tried to reach for the stars while there
was wisdom before your door, you couldn’t grab.
Your body supplicates but your heart doesn’t,
why supplicate?
Your beads turn but your heart doesn’t,
what is the point of that?
You went for pilgrimage but you didn’t evolve,
why did you even go?
You covered your head but had corrupted intentions,
why put yourself through such trouble?
Even animals have better morals than you, where
have you put yourself in this evolution?
O creation of the highest order, your throne
is high above, why do you seek it on earth?
Why do you look for shadows when
you can stare directly at the sun?
I’ve declared war against my nafs
and Masnavi is my sword

Very powerful!!!
Were you referring to anyone specifically?
Well each question is asked to very groups of people. The whole poem criticises various religious groups of people who think they are better than others because they’re religious. No specific person is criticised, or at least not when I was writing.
